HOW TO VOTE
ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE:
1. Voting Requirements in Texas:
- You are a United States citizen.
- You are legally registered to vote in Texas.
- You are at least 18 years old on Election Day.
- You are not a convicted felon. (You may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole.)
- You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
2. How to Verify if You are Registered to Vote:
HOW TO RECEIVE & SUBMIT VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION
The application may be mailed or delivered in person to the Voter Registration office or the Val Verde County Clerk’s Office. If mailed, the application must be postmarked 30 days before an election for you to be eligible to vote in that election. For the 2021 Constitutional Amendment Election, this will be: Monday, October 4, 2021.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
For acceptable identifications when voting at a polling location please visit Required Identification for Voting in Person or see list below:
● Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
● Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
● Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
● Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
● United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
● United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
● United States Passport (book or card)

your primary residence the address where you live while not attending school – in other words, where a
parent or guardian lives.
